Dr. David Frantz

As the owner of Fanwood Animal Hospital, Dr. Frantz has dedicated his life to veterinary medicine. Truly passionate about animals, Dr. Frantz enjoys the challenges of helping pets get well and continue to stay healthy, finding great joy in building deep,
long-term relationships with pets and their families. Dr. Frantz has particular interests in surgery, endocrinology, and dermatology.

Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, Dr. Frantz completed his undergraduate studies at Union College in Schenectady, New York in 1986.
Dr. Frantz did additional pre-veterinary work at Cornell University. In 1995 Dr. Frantz attained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Frantz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA). He has been involved in the leadership of the Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association for many years, including serving as president and vice president.

Dr. Frantz is married to Barbara Doyle Frantz, a local attorney. They have 3 children: Zachary, Sarah, and Andrew. A family of animal lovers, they share their home with several rescued pets: Bacu and Hurley (both mixed breed dogs), and Skeeter (a solid grey kitty). Church is an important part of Dr. Frantz’s life, and he volunteers time with Young Life, a non-denominational Christian outreach to high school kids. Outside the office, he enjoys bicycling, scuba diving, and live music. His wife is annoyed that his CD collection is taking over the house.
